Over the last four decades as an immigration attorney Andy Semotiuk has helped over 10,000 clients with various legal problems. His memberships in the bars of Ontario and B.C. in Canada and New York and California in the United States have helped him work with investors, executives, professionals and celebrities in the entertainment industry, looking after their immigration needs. In addition to his work as an attorney, Andy is a columnist for Forbes where he writes about investor immigration. A former United Nations correspondent and a published author, he is an associate of Pace Law Firm, a leading law firm in Toronto with over 150 employees.
Andy will discuss how an attorney working today can make money, find time for the important things in life and maintain a balanced lifestyle. He will reveal how to fast-track your legal career while avoiding some of the most common pitfalls you might encounter on the road to success.
Warren is a passionate advocate for investor education and complete transparency in advisor - client relationships. He has delivered hundreds of investment seminars to corporations and public-sector organizations, he is a regular contributor to the Money Saver Magazine, the Home Digest and the Globe and Mail. Warren authored 'The Unbiased Advisor' and co-authored 'New Rules of Retirement', both published by Harper Collins.
Teaching has always been an important part of Warren's career. After completing a Bachelor of Education degree his first job was as a school teacher in Halifax, NS. He then became a Chartered Accountant and specialized in bankruptcy and insolvency work where he helped clients overcome the results of poor money management. Later he became a financial advisor with a major brokerage firm where he attracted clients who wanted to learn how to invest wisely.
In 2004 he founded Weigh House Investor Services so he could teach sound investment principles in an environment where he was free of the conflict of interest that exists in the financial services industry.
Today as a Stewardship Counselor with HighView he helps clients simplify their financial affairs and gives them confidence and control by teaching them the 10 steps to managing money wisely.
The seminar is designed to give you the information necessary to answer questions that you may receive in your role as a trusted advisor. The topics include fiduciary obligations in the financial services industry, the need for an Investment Policy Statement to hold advisors accountable, 10 basic steps to wise money management, and a review of impact of CRM2 which is a change in securities law which takes place on July 15, 2016.
Don Wilson has been in the Financial Services industry for over 35 years and is widely recognized as one of the most experienced and knowledgeable practitioners in his field. Over the course of his career he has been a successful advisor, agency manager, and executive vice president for one of the largest insurance companies in Canada. In the 1990's he pioneered a new distribution channel for financial services which now yields several hundred million dollars of revenue.
In 2009 Don decided that his "retirement" would consist of assisting professionals and business owners and their families in the area of estate and business succession planning. While licensed with Freedom 55 Financial, he owns a company "Wilson Legacy Partners" that includes some of the country's foremost minds in the area of tax, legal and investment counsel.
Don will address the topic of how to create an archival system of financial security. This system will create certainty and freedom from financial fear with respect to adequate retirement and illness planning.
