Types of Applications

  • Section 205 Application under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation (IRPR)
  • Intra-corporate Transferee Application (Section 204 of the IRPR)
STEP TWO


Section 205 Application

The requirements include the following:
  • Incorporate a company in Canada.
  • Establish a presence in Canada
  • Open a corporate bank account for the Canadian company
  • Register the Business with Canada Revenue
  • Prepare a business plan with 5 year business income and expenditure projections
  • Applicant to invest $200,000 in his company to show it is in operation
  • Letters of reference from Canadian sources showing social, cultural or economic benefit to Canada
Intra-corporate Transferee Application
(Section 204 of the IRPR)


Applicant must have a company in operation in a foreign jurisdiction and intends to open a branch or subsidiary company in Canada.

The requirements include the following:
  • Incorporate a branch or a subsidiary company in Canada
  • Establish a presence in Canada
  • Open a corporate bank account for the Canadian company
  • Register the Business with Canada Revenue
  • Prepare a business plan with 5 year business income and expenditure projections
  • You will need to invest $200 000 company to show it is in operation
  • Proof that applicant worked for a minimum of 1 year in the last three years as manager/executive in the foreign company
  • Having worked in Canada for a year, step two begins
STEP TWO

for Permanent Resident Status under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

Requirements include the following:

  • Applicant must plan to live outside the province of Quebec
  • Have at least 12 months of full time (or an equal amount in part time) skilled work experience in Canada in the three years before making an application

    Skilled work experience means:
     
    • Managerial jobs (NOC skill type 0)
    • Professional jobs (NOC skill type A)
    • Technical jobs and skilled trades (NOC skill type B)
  • Have gained experience in Canada with the proper authorization;
  • Meet the required English language threshold needed for the applicant’s job.
